Moorestown (in Burlington County) was voted the South Jersey second top town this year (Number 133 out of 513 ranked towns) to live in according to New Jersey Monthly. In 2015, it was ranked at 47, but dropped in rank due to a rise in property taxes (up 12.3%).

New Jersey Monthly’s formula in ranking the towns include crime rates, quality of schools, real estate taxes, average time a home stays for sale on the market, the municipality’s ranking of their school system, and accessibility to amenities, such as restaurants, hospitals and theaters.

Most of the highest ranked towns are in North Jersey. This is due to the strong demand for homes in this part of our state.
